NSW: Panto depicting Croc Hunter's death not intended to offend
Popular satirist MAX GILLIES says the pantomime depiction of STEVE IRWIN'S death in
Babes In The Wood .. isn't intended to offend .. and is in fact an affecting moment in
the show.
The panto opens tonight and plays in the Sydney Opera House in the lead-up to Christmas.
It's been criticised over a song about IRWIN titled Die Doing The Thing You Love.
Singer songwriter EDDIE PERFECT is no longer answering questions on the subject because
of the amount of flack he's received for the IRWIN-inspired song.
But GILLIES says part of the tradition of panto is to involve current affairs .. and
IRWIN'S death has been one of the most talked about events of the past year.
