Qld: Dams a long way from full despite solid rain
The operator of south-east Queensland's dams warns they're a long way from full ..
despite solid rain since Christmas.
SEQWater operations manager ROB DRURY says the Wivenhoe .. Somerset and North Pine
dams still need almost 1.2 million megalitres of water .. or more than two Sydney Harbours
.. to reach full capacity.
So far this year's rain has added almost 18 months' supply to the dams .. which are
now at a combined level of 35 per cent.
Mr DRURY says one of the key reasons dam levels are up .. is the savings that have
been made by homes and businesses over the past two and a half years.
