Fed: Margaret to be missed for her charity work - Anderson

CANBERRA, Feb 10 AAP - Deputy Prime Minister John Anderson said today the late PrincessMargaret would be missed for the work she contributed to young people's charities.

Mr Anderson, head of Australia's rural conservative National Party, sent his condolencesto the royal family and sympathy to the people of Britain.

"Princess Margaret led and extraordinary life and had a heavy involvement in charitywork, particularly related to children's welfare, youth and nursing," he said.

"She'll be greatly missed."

After years of failing health, the 71-year-old princess died peacefully in her sleepafter developing heart problems overnight following her fourth stroke in as many years.
