LONDON: The growing interest of overseas clubs in South Africa's top rugby players was underlined yesterday by news of a possible offer for Springbok lock Bakkies Botha.
Less than a month after Victor Matfield, Botha's international and provincial second-row partner, joined French club Toulon and less than a week after the news that Bayonne had made wing Bryan Habana an offer, there was more evidence of the dangers of an exodus from South Africa by leading Springboks.
According to French rugby newspaper Midi Olympique, Botha is being courted by French championship leaders Stade Toulouse and ambitious Division 2 pace-setters …
